Meet Dr. Barry Prentice, one of UM’s climate changemakers. Dr. Prentice believes airships could be the key to improving resource development, global food security, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

As you will see in this video below, airships could help diversify our fruit and vegetable supply. As we have witnessed with lettuce this year, climate change can send food prices soaring.

We have completed research that puts the cost of delivering fresh produce from Mexico by 100-ton airship within pennies per kilo of refrigerated trucks. The carbon savings are enormous, and the produce is fresher. We can also go further south and across the Caribbean.
